Pakistan now has the dubious distinction of hosting the world's most expensive wind power project both in terms of capital cost (US $ 3.1 million per MW), almost twice as expensive as current international rate as well as unit production cost of 15 cents per kWh, which too is twice the recently announced prices in some countries. Brazil's price is 6 cents per kWh and India has a stable wind tariff of 7-8 cents per kWh.
